If you're one of those players who just wants to dive in and get driving, then picking your car is about as far as you can take it without worrying about having to fine tune things. The game will automatically adjust its parameters for the kind of track, weather and conditions you'll be playing in. If you're more of an engine-head and want to go deeper into the Formula 1 experience, the options menu includes a whole wealth of customisation that can give you that very specific difference in handling or speed. Do you want to give your tyres more grip, or tweak the suspension slightly? It's all here and waiting for you to play with. With many different modes of play, and a balancing system so that both players can enjoy racing together - race lines appear for novice drivers to follow and the game dynamically suggests difficulty tweaking for players consistently winning - F1 2009 provides a faithful re-introduction to the world of Formula 1 in computer games.
