The joy of Pro Evolution Soccer has always been in the football. It sounds like a pretty obvious thing to say about a football game really, doesn't it? But the point is that it's squarely about the action on the pitch. The weight of the ball at your feet/fingers; the way the game makes you build to a finishing shot instead of banging it in from the halfway mark; the way you feel a real sense of control on the ball, but that it can go completely wrong at any moment (because that's what real football does, sometimes); the delight offered up by a well-executed chip shot. It's all about the action on the pitch. Visible Fatigue impacts player performance as you push and pull for space now, while new net physics will make scoring more satisfying than ever. It's all in the details. Increasingly in recent years that fidelity in the physicality of the game has been supported by authenticity on the surface, too. The developers have really built up an incredible knack for those licensed players likenesses, for imbueing the stadiums with an atmosphere so thick you could stop a penalty with it. Konami has upped the number of licenses yet again, with 79 new licenses taking the total number of licensed teams up to 293 of the 355 on offer. Off the pitch, myClub has recieved its biggest revamp to date, with a brand new player card design system leading the charge on a series of changes to how players build their squads. It all comes with support for 4K HDR across all platforms thanks to the 'Enlighten' software, meaning the whole package looks better than ever.
