From boss battles inspired by beloved childhood toys to locations that echo the look and feel of classic arcades and playgrounds, Although you start your journey as Sean, the adventure doesn't stop there. As you rescue your imprisoned friends, they become playable characters, each with their own unique abilities, expanding your tactical options and unlocking new paths throughout the world. Switching between characters is key to overcoming the game’s challenges. Your main goal is clear, but how you achieve it is entirely up to you. Choose your own path as you explore Arostia—every decision you make influences how the story unfolds. Boss battles are there if you choose to face them but defeating them isn’t required. Blaze your own trail, whether it’s through action, exploration, or sheer creativity.
 
With multiple endings based on your playstyle and choices, The Good Old Days encourages replayability and personal storytelling. The game features a unique circular story structure where each playthrough offers a different narrative path and ending based on your choices. The story evolves dynamically depending on which events you trigger, which characters appear, the time of day, your money, and other conditions throughout your adventure. Your decisions directly influence the outcome—shaping your inventory, the characters you meet, and the fate of everyone involved. Each ending seamlessly connects to the beginning of a new story, encouraging players to dive back in and explore new outcomes.
