A timeless tale retold through an artist’s imagination, Maria Panfilova’s fully sculpted vision of Beauty and the Beast emphasizes the contrast between innocence and animal instinct. Despite the frightening nature of his monstrous form, there is a surprising tenderness as the Beast wraps himself protectively around the woman. And Beauty does not resist — in fact, she leans into the embrace as her fingertips lovingly brush his feral, furred physique. The dreamy quality of her expression indicates a moment of entwined intimacy, as the pair are whisked away almost weightlessly from the stony, marble-like base. A single red rose beneath their feet alludes to the original French fairytale, a precious gift stolen at great cost.
The polystone Beauty and the Beast Statue measures 18.25” tall (46.3 cm) x 12.3” wide (31.4 cm) x 10.75” deep (27.3 cm). The Beast’s design is a unique blend of grisly features, including a ridged tail, clawed feet, pointed ears, and piercing yellow eyes. The deep, earthy tones of his complexion further highlight the delicateness of pale Beauty, as her blonde hair and gossamer gown flutter behind her. From the paint detailing to the dynamic flow of the dual character sculpture, this imaginative Sideshow Original collectible statue makes a breathtaking addition to any home.
