James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender star in this superhero action adventure prequel directed by Matthew Vaughn. In 1962, Erik Lehnsherr (Fassbender) and Charles Xavier (McAvoy) meet while Erik is hunting Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon), the leader of a dangerous secret society called the Hellfire Club. They become close friends and begin working together to fight against evil but a difference of opinion drives them apart and ultimately leads to the unending war between Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants and Professor X's X-Men. The cast also includes Jennifer Lawrence, Rose Byrne and Nicholas Hoult.
