Xbox 360: Armoured Core V (COMPLETE)
The Armored Core series has set the standard for the "Mech Action" game genre since From Software brought the first title to the original PlayStation back in the 1990s. As the name suggests, Armored Core V builds on the intense one-on-one battles and customization options of its predecessors to enable gamers to battle hard and fast with some of the wildest and most heavily-armoured vehicles yet in the series. Armored Core V, however, brings additions to to the range in both offline mode and an online mode that has been newly designed to focus on huge team-based battles on a global scale. The game is also features mechs or "Armored Cores" that are smaller in scale than in previous games enabling the gamer to focus on tactics that effectively utilize the geography of a level rather than just relying on straight-out, head-on brutal attacks of old. In multiplayer mode the gamer can form teams of up to 20 within which five-man pilot cells are able to play against other five-man pilot cells online, with each team being lead by one Operator via voice chat. In this situation, the Operator sets strategy and conducts recon missions while also issuing tactical commands to their mechs as they seek to complete the goal of capturing as many territories as possible. Teams can be built up for customization by earning points to help raise up ranks; the higher the rank the greater purchasing and customization options. And with more than 500 unique components to upgrade and customize, the more points the better if the gamer is to stay competitive. Customisable items include the mech's Head Piece, Core, Arms, Legs, and Weapons as well as forthcoming DLC components such as emblems. Players can also trade parts, booster packs, soldier models, BGM, and in-game items.
