PS2: Evil Twin, Complete
It is Cyprien's birthday - the same day that he tragically became an orphan - unaware of this his friends throw a surprise party which goes badly wrong as he angrily storms out. Cyprien later awakens in Bed'under - a strange, dreamlike world in which his friends are prisoners or been warped into twisted versions of their former selves. It is now down to Cyprien alone who can rescue his friends, and at the end of his journey face a very dark challenge of his own. Based on an idea for a graphic novel, and drawing inspiration from films such as Nightmare before Christmas and The City of the Lost Children, the resulting story of Evil Twin is a rich and darkly imaginative journey through the childhood psyche with all it's fears, dreams and high fantasies. Evil Twin is a huge game with 66 levels spread across 8 islands. An immense amount of creativity has gone into the visual and content design of each Island; graphically, Evil Twin is nothing short of stunning, and as each Island follows a distinct childhood theme such as school or food - the levels in the island reflect this i.e. In Joecylen's Island your friend has been swallowed by a bloated version of herself. You must gather various ingredients to cook a hideous omelette and then catapult it into her mouth making her 'bring up' the real Joecylen. These ingredients are found in the Island's levels; the pantry, garden, cellar and so on. The secret to completing an Island in Evil Twin is never straightforward and always achieved in a novel, entertaining manner. For example in Stephen's Island you have to rescue your friend from perpetual detention. The secret to do this is: steal a nail file from the teacher's pocket, free children caged in the playground, meet the Sandman and put the teacher asleep, get some scissors from the psychotic school nurses, open up a hatch in the teachers head and smash the light bulb to knock him out! This is achieved by completing all six levels that make up Stephen's Island, using in the process some of the 32 objects that can be found in the game. Cyprien's trusted catapult can be used to attack opponents, trigger switches and be upgraded through different ammunition. I.e. later in the game new ammunition includes a bubble-gum shot that encases opponents in a moveable ball, and a paper plane that you can pilot when launched! As for Super Cyprien his various powers include his flying cape, an electro attack, and a fireball that he can leap into the air, pivot and launch Matrix style.
